7 COMMON DREAM SYMBOLS AND THEIR MEANINGS

Dreams have long been considered a window to our consciousness, and this theory has been supported by a recent study conducted by a team of scientists from the ATR Computational Neuroscience Lab in Kyoto, Japan. The study examined brain scans in order to identify the visual imagery in dreams, and showed that we watch our dreams and the world in the same manner. The dreams also share a connection to our everyday activities.


And, while there’s no clear interpretation of the imagery in your dreams, there are common dream symbols which have concrete meaning.

Dreaming about teeth has different meanings – rotten teeth symbolize anxiety and fear, while dreaming about pulling teeth means that something needs to come out in the light. Falling teeth are a common symbol in dreams which signifies that you will deal with some situations that will cause stress in your life.

Flying

Water represents conscious life experiences, feeling and emotions, and is generally seen as a symbol of purity. Dreaming of waterfalls is a positive sign – it is a symbol of new beginnings.

Dreaming of a house symbolizes your mind. These dreams are related to yourself and some aspects of your personality, and the interpretation depends on the type of house you dream of or how many rooms it has.
