As the WNDR (WorldNewsDailyReport) posted on their blog, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) caught several illegal containers that originate from China.

Namely, the inspectors form the FDA seized these containers at the Port of San Francisco, CA, and there they found rat meat, which should be shipped to different meat processing plants across America and this meat is planned to be sold as chicken.

Despite the fact that FDA inspectors warn that there may be hundreds of thousands of pounds of estimated illegal counterfeit meat already on the market, it is quite shocking that there is no clear way on which the consumers could make a difference.

Jenny Brookside is the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) spokesman, and she explains that already it is too late for the produce that has already been sold on the market.

She stated: “Well, it’s up to people to try to identify the quality of the meat that is packaged. But, you should all know that there is no absolute way to determine if the meat in your plate is chicken or rat”. She also adds that in case you notice that your chicken wings taste little bit different than usual, you should be aware that the meat probably is counterfeit meat. However, this kind of meat easily can be hidden with the use of many different ingredients and spices.

In addition to this, you should be very careful and eat only homemade and un–processed food. In one study in 2014, FDA proved that almost 36 million lbs. of illegal counterfeit meat is sold in the United States in just one year.
